June is a beautiful time to experience Seattle. A series of optional events are available for attendees following the Institute's conclusion on Saturday afternoon.
Wine Tasting in Woodinville
Join your fellow LGBTQ leaders on a tour of the Woodinville region of Northeast Seattle. Washington is the second largest wine producer in the country, and and Woodinville is where it pours. With over 800 winemakers in the state, over 100 wineries in Woodinville, and more 90+ rated vintages than any wine region in the world, this is where palates of every persuasion come to play. Transportation provided and tasting fees included: $150 per person.
A Trip to the Seattle Space Needle and the Chihuly Garden
Since Seattle hosted the World’s Fair in 1962, the Seattle Space Needle and the Seattle Center have remained an integral part of the local community. Anchored by four monumental sculptures, the Chihuly Garden provides an opportunity for discovery and surprise. A rich backdrop for the art, it features paths lined with trees, plants and flowers. WNBA Storm VIP Experience
Join fellow Institute attendees for a VIP experience at Seattle Storm home game. Winners of the WNBA Finals in 2004 and 2010, the team cultivates a fan-friendly, family environment at home games by having an all-kid dance squad conga line on the court during time-outs, and halftime dance party. Tickets available by advanced purchase only by contacting Julie Herbison at firstname.lastname@example.org. Cost: $50 per person.
Evening Riverboat Cruise and Dinner
Saturday evening ends with an optional sunset dinner cruise, complete with the finest culinary offerings, friendly, attentive service, and stunning views of Seattle’s lakes and city skylines. The 2.5 hour cruise offers views on Lake Union and Lake Washington and a four-course plated dinner and a full-service bar. Tickets available by advanced purchase only by contacting Julie Herbison at email@example.com. Cost: $100 per person.
